I tried these when they first came out just for fun. The subjects in the one I did were my kids then aged 4 and 8. When I sent it to them (then aged 28 and 32), the response from my son - which my daughter agreed with, was "That is creepy AF NGL".
I do find them somewhat unnerving myself. When they are with living people ... like my kids they are kind of amusing to me but when with dead people it makes me feel like I am disrespecting them in some way. However I appreciate that lots of other people love them.

I hear you. I’m a purist even when it comes to the basics of photo restoration. About the most I’ll do is lighten a dark image.
But some folks like these ancestral games. To each his own.
